minnesotamade holidays...

has just published an article about my work. You can see it at this link http://www.examiner.com/homemade-living-in-minneapolis/minnesotamade-holidays-beth-elliot

along with photos of some new pieces. Including this Copper Ginko Leaf necklace. This is an actual copper coated leaf using electro-forming to cover the leaf in real copper. Just like "bronze" baby booties of old. It has an argentium silver wire for the necklace and sterling silver wire and ball accents. It's been patinated to give it a wonderful old look.

new copper containers

I dropped off a bunch of new work this afternoon to Seasons on St. Croix in Hudson, WI. Friday night (yes tomorrow!) is the 10th anniversary of this gallery www.seasonsonstcroix.com and at the same time it's their First Friday Celebration featuring Sue Seeger as the October guest artist. The event includes food, refreshments, music and drawings. Of course lots of ART, mine included! I'm really excited and just love creating these little containers, so much fun.

Stop by 5-9 PM and enjoy a great evening of art, music and fun. It should be a great time. Hope to see you there.

my copper boxes

These are a few of my latest pieces. Most are copper with other metals or polymer clay. I love this medium. It's very fun and challenging.
The more I learn the more I need to learn. Ha! How fun!!!

outdoor show

I was invited to be in Sue Seeger's second annual art show in Elk River. It was so much fun. This is her cool studio.

See her amazing work here: http://sueseegersart.blogspot.com

This is one of Sue's amazing sculptures. She's created this as a public art piece for her tribe of mountain bikers. You can see more shots of this great sculpture at her blog
It was a beautiful day, we couldn't have asked for better. I had a blast hanging out with the other artists and got a lot of great feedback on glass work and my new copper work.

my art glass

A good part of this art was done under the name Aurinka Glass a business I ran with my husband Jon for a number of years. Most of our work can be seen in homes throughout the Midwest. However there are still some pieces we created for galleries available at Krista Artista Gallery.
